I can\u2019t believe 2020 is almost coming to a close. With 2021 rapidly approaching, it\u2019s time to reflect on this past year. Although 2020 has been anything but easy, it\u2019s important to remind ourselves that tough times will only make us grow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re finding it difficult to get into the holiday spirits with everything going on, you\u2019re not alone! November is National Gratitude Month, so we\u2019re going to talk a little bit about gratitude and some small ways you can practice gratitude if you\u2019re not feeling very grateful these days. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/emmons.faculty.ucdavis.edu\/gratitude-and-well-being\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A study conducted in 2003<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found there were multiple benefits of writing down one thing you are grateful for daily. The study found that people who did a daily gratitude exercise felt better about their lives as a whole, reported feeling more optimistic and were more likely to progress towards their goals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are five simple ways you can practice gratitude daily.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep a gratitude journal. The simple act of writing down ONE thing you\u2019re grateful for daily has shown to have a major impact on mood.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Express gratitude by telling someone you love them or WHY you\u2019re grateful for them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One random act of kindness a day. This doesn&#8217;t have to be a big, grand gesture. Something as small as complimenting a stranger or even holding the door open for someone can be considered an act of kindness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spend time in nature, away from your phone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do a 30 day gratitude challenge!
