Hi, I’m Jessica King, MSW, LCSW, ERYT
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and somatic healer who helps busy women find their optimal work-life balance to feel better in their bodies and in their relationships.
Whether you are a stressed out mom trying to raise well-adjusted humans without losing yourself or a CEO climbing the corporate ladder in desperate need of rest, I want to help you find the calm you need to be present and find joy in all the messy, beautiful moments life throws at you.
At the risk of sounding cliche, it takes a village. Life is hard, and we do not have to do it alone. In fact, to heal from relational trauma we need relational therapy!.
I take a person centered approach to therapy meaning I meet you where you are with curiosity and compassion to heal wounded parts, discover important personal values, and find motivation to take the next right action.
I believe that healing is a whole body kind of thing. We can’t just talk our way out of decades of negative thought patterns and behaviors. Through somatic - or body based - awareness, I help you settle the monkey-mind and calm the body for real integration and healing. When we feel authentically connected to Self, we are then able to build sturdy, intimate relationships with others.
Oh, and you might just find a way to set healthy boundaries with others along the way. Who knew good relationships were built on clear boundaries?!
This may sound like an unlikely combination, but I believe when we know better we do better! I have spent my career learning about the inner workings of the human mind and body, and I love to share how nervous system regulation supports healing after difficult experiences or traumas. I also utilize and encourage other energetic modalities like yoga, meditation, and reiki, because energetic healing has a scientific basis too and it works!
As a therapist, I want to hold space for you to be a whole human - mind, body, and spirit - and if that means we get to be a little woo-woo together then all the better!
