Aron Lanie, Yoga Instructor and iRest Facilitator

Aron Lanie, Yoga Instructor and iRest Facilitator

Aron is a lifetime athlete and former U.S. Army Paratrooper. She began practicing yoga for physical fitness, athletic recovery, and to address pain from physical injuries. Over time she also saw improvement in her emotional well being. The healing and comfort she experienced in mind and body through yoga is something she hopes to share with others.
She attended Earth Yoga teacher training in Koh Samui, Thailand for her 200 hour yoga certification. Since then she studied trauma sensitive yoga and adaptive yoga through the Veterans Yoga Project and the Prison Yoga Project, and became a certified Warriors at Ease teacher. She has also completed Integrative Restoration (iRest) yoga nidra meditation level one training. She is currently working on completing her 300 hour yoga certification through Guiding Wellness under Kelsey Timas, and is enrolled in the Recreation Therapy program at UNCW. She teaches at gyms, studios, community centers, corporate settings, and at workshops. Through various non-profits, she brings yoga and meditation to veterans, students with special needs, people with disabilities, and people who have been incarcerated. Her intention is to create an environment where students can feel welcome and at ease, and feel empowered to make the practice work for their unique needs because yoga is for every body.
