Jessica Swanson, MFT Intern

Jessica is a marriage and family therapy intern that works with individuals, couples, families and adolescents. Her clinical interests include relational conflict, blended families, life transitions, body image, self-esteem and trauma.

Jessica is collaborative and direct, uses humor in her sessions and embraces complexity. Her approach to therapy creates a safe and non-judgmental environment with space for exploration. Jessica works from a systemic perspective, recognizing that everyone is uniquely situated in our world and has nuanced perspectives informed by their experiences. She uses an integrated, Trauma-Informed approach that draws upon Structural family therapy, Narrative therapy and CBT techniques.

Biography

Jessica is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in trauma-informed systemic therapy. She has been working in the Wilmington mental health community for the last ten years connecting clients to the therapists that best meet their needs.
