There are seasons in life when we are constantly moving—working, caring for others, managing responsibilities, showing up for our families and relationships, and trying to keep everything together. Sometimes that is exactly where we want to be and we are intentionally caring for others in a way that feels restorative and connecting. But, sometimes, somewhere along the way, we lose touch with ourselves.
We may notice that we feel more anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, emotionally depleted, or simply tired of being “on” all the time. We may know that we need rest, but struggle to actually slow down. We may understand what we are feeling intellectually, but have difficulty feeling connected to our bodies or knowing what we need.
This is where a healing circle can offer something different. Our 10-week virtual Women’s Healing Circle is designed to provide an intentional space for women to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and gently support their nervous systems through the transition into fall. This not another obligation on your calendar – this circle is an invitation to pause and come home to yourself.
A healing circle is a supportive, intentional gathering where women come together to reflect, reconnect, and create space for their emotional and embodied experiences. Our 10-week circle meets virtually once a week for 90 minutes. Each session combines therapeutic and mindfulness-informed practices with opportunities for reflection and connection.
The circle is grounded in compassion rather than judgment. There is no expectation that you need to have everything figured out, share personal details, or arrive feeling a certain way. You simply come as you are, and over the course of 10 weeks, we will explore practices that can help you become more aware of what is happening within your body, recognize what your nervous system may need, and cultivate greater emotional regulation and self-compassion.
While every session will have a different focus and intention, you can expect a gentle combination of practices such as:
We will explore practical ways to recognize when your nervous system is activated, overwhelmed, or depleted and practice techniques that can support greater regulation and a sense of safety.
These practices are not about forcing yourself to “calm down.” Instead, they are about developing greater awareness of what is happening within you, developing ways to “be with” the experience in your body, and learning how to respond with intention.
Mindfulness creates an opportunity to step out of the constant stream of thoughts, responsibilities, and distractions and reconnect with the present moment. Guided meditation may help you notice your thoughts, emotions, sensations, and internal experiences with greater curiosity and less judgment.
Our breath and body can be powerful pathways toward greater awareness and regulation.
Sessions may include gentle breathing practices and intentional movement designed to help you reconnect with physical sensations, release tension, and become more aware of what your body is communicating. You do not need to be flexible, athletic, or experienced with movement practices. Everything is designed to be accessible and gentle.
You may be given prompts to explore emotions, relationships, patterns, transitions, needs, boundaries, or areas of your life where you are seeking greater balance.
There is no “right” way to journal. The goal is simply to create space for reflection.
We will incorporate principles inspired by Somatic Experiencing to help develop awareness of the connection between emotional experiences and physical sensations.
Rather than focusing solely on what is happening in your thoughts, we may explore questions such as:
This type of awareness can help us develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and our emotional experiences.
Many of us spend a great deal of time living from the neck up. We analyze. We problem-solve. We plan. We worry. We push through. But our bodies are communicating with us all the time. A racing heart, tight shoulders, shallow breathing, fatigue, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, or a feeling of being constantly “on edge” can all be ways our bodies respond to stress and emotional experiences. Learning to recognize these signals can give us another way to understand ourselves.
The goal isn’t to eliminate difficult emotions or make every day feel peaceful. Instead, the goal is to develop a greater capacity to notice what is happening within us, respond with compassion, and move through life’s experiences with more awareness and choice.
One of the most meaningful aspects of a healing circle is the experience of being witnessed and supported by others. There is something powerful about realizing that you are not the only person who sometimes feels overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, uncertain, or simply in need of a pause.
The circle provides a compassionate, non-judgmental community where you can participate at your own level. You can share when you feel comfortable. You can listen. You can reflect privately. You can simply be present. There is no pressure to perform or have the “right” experience.
This circle may be a particularly good fit for women who:
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from this experience. In fact, you don’t need to have a particular problem at all. Sometimes the most meaningful reason to pause is simply the recognition that you want to feel more connected to yourself.
You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burned out to take care of yourself. You don’t have to earn rest. And you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin listening to yourself.
The Women’s Healing Circle is an invitation to create a little more space in your life—to reconnect with your body, your emotions, your inner wisdom, and a community of women who are also making space for themselves.
If you have recently been asking yourself, “How can I keep doing more?” maybe its time to ask yourself:
“What happens when I finally give myself permission to pause?”
If that question resonates with you, this circle may be the space you’ve been looking for.
