Hi, I’m Josie Jones, MSW, LCSW.
I’m a social worker and mental health therapist who helps all ages of individuals with processing traumatic events, identifying and exploring emotions, and building self esteem. Working to create a positive therapeutic relationship and a sense of safety within my office is the goal with every client I meet.
A sense of safety and empowerment are critical when it comes to effective services. I believe that everyone has something to gain from therapy, and it takes finding the right provider to begin seeing change. I operate from a humanistic approach which means I
encourage clients to show up fully as themselves and I will do the same. Cultivating a sense of community and security within the therapeutic relationship is the first step in learning more about yourself and seeing the progress unfold within a safe space. Whether you are a child, teen, or adult, I believe you know and understand your needs best. I will work with you and your support system to ensure effective results and desired progress throughout the course of treatment.
I am an avid traveler and love finding and exploring new cities and seeing what they have to offer.
Before moving to Wilmington, Josie lived in Northern Iowa for six years. While in Iowa she completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Northern Iowa and attained a variety of experience working with clients fleeing from domestic violence and human trafficking. Josie also worked extensively with children and families within the foster care system and with those involved with the Department of Human Services. After completing her schooling, Josie became an independent contractor providing mental health therapy services to individuals of all ages working to address and treat symptoms utilizing a variety of interventions such as somatic processing, play based therapy, and client-centered therapy. Josie is passionate about working with people of all walks of life and utilizes her role as a social worker and therapist to advocate for her clients’ wellbeing.
