Philosophy

“At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,
But neither arrest nor movement. And do not call it fixity,
Where past and future are gathered.
Neither movement from nor towards, Neither ascent nor decline.
Except for the point, the still point, there would be no dance, and there is only the dance.”
– T.S. Elliot

Life often seems to be moving so fast that we do not have time to catch our breath – much less focus on health and wellness. Stillpoint utilizes counseling and therapeutic services to help you find your “still point” in what often seems like chaos. We want to help you turn down the noise and embrace the life you were intended to live.

By being here, you have already taken a huge step towards making positive changes in your life. This can be a tough decision to make, but Stillpoint is here to help you – to help you get your life back on course, to find contentment with your current circumstances, and to find joy in every day living.

What to Expect

You can reach out initially by phone or email according to your preferences. You will then receive a phone call from your therapist to discuss any questions, concerns, and details about your initial appointment. During this time, feel free to ask any questions you have in regards to therapy style, location details, or payment.

During your initial appointment, you can expect to meet with the therapist to get comfortable in the space, understand the structure of the therapy, and your client rights. This initial appointment is a great time to explore long term goals and to determine if the therapeutic relationship is a good fit for you. In addition, the therapist will give you feedback on the ways in which she may be able to help support you in reaching your long term goals. This is a perfect time to discuss if individual therapy, family therapy, parenting support, mindfulness group, therapeutic yoga, or a combination of these will be appropriate for you. This is a collaborative process between you and the therapist. At the end of this session, a consistent therapy schedule will be recommended and your future appointments set up. Payment is taken at the end of each session.

If therapeutic yoga is something you want to incorporate into your sessions, this could occur on the same day as your therapy service or scheduled for a different time. Comfortable, flexible clothing should be worn to enable you to move and stretch. You would move from the therapy room to the yoga room where you would be guided through a customized, therapeutic yoga class. You do not have to incorporate yoga into your plan, but it is an option to discuss with your therapist.

Rates and Insurance

Therapy is a commitment of time, energy and financial resources.  Self-pay rates between therapists and type of session in a range of $90 – $150.  Please contact our office for more information regarding self-pay therapy rates.

We are in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, and we are a certified provider to Tricare/Humana Military.    In-Network insurance rates are billed directly to the insurance companies and contracted rates are determined by the insurance provider. Deductibles and co-insurances are based off the contracted rate of the individual insurance company with Stillpoint Counseling and Wellness, PLLC, as well as your individual plan and benefits. To know more clearly your responsibility, you can call your insurance provider (phone number often found on back of your insurance card) and inquire about service codes 90791 (initial intake appointment) and 90837 (1 hour therapy session), 90834 (45 min therapy session, or 90847 (family therapy) which are typical service codes for mental health session. All co-pays, co-insurances, and deductibles are due at the time of service by cash, check, credit card, or HSA/Health Saving Account card.

If you plan to utilize health insurance, it is important for you to verify your mental health benefits so you understand your coverage prior to your appointment. Our billing department will do a courtesy initial benefits verification; however, we encourage you to contact your insurance company to know your benefits and fully understand your financial responsibility.

If you are with an out of network insurance company, at your request, we can provide you with a Superbill monthly to submit to your insurance company per your out of network benefits. Most insurance agreements require you to authorize us to provide a clinical diagnosis and sometimes additional clinical information. If you request it, we will provide you with information to send to your insurance company. This information will become part of the insurance company’s files. Insurance companies claim to keep information confidential, but you should check with your insurance company directly if you have questions about their confidentiality practices.

Late cancellation fees or no shows fees are not billable to insurance, therefore this fee ($105) would be your responsibility in the event this happened. If you have further questions about insurance billing, please contact our billing department by emailing billing@stillpointcounselingandwellness.com.
