Stillpoint utilizes counseling and therapeutic services to help you find your “still point” in what often seems like chaos. We want to help you turn down the noise and embrace the life you were intended to live.
By being here, you have already taken a huge step towards making positive changes in your life. This can be a tough decision to make, but Stillpoint is here to help you – to help you get your life back on course, to find contentment with your current circumstances, and to find joy in every day living.
Anxiety is natural response to emotional or physical stress. It is a feeling of worry or nervousness associated with an event or situation.
Therapy can help to uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears, learn how to relax, look at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.
If you're experiencing nervousness, restlessness, rapid breathing, lethargy, difficulty focusing, excessive worry, insomnia, or obsession about certain ideas, therapy can help.
Depression is a common mental health condition that changes the way you think, feel, act, and perceive yourself, others, and the world around you.
This can show up by feeling worthless, that you can't do anything right, guilty for just wanting to eat, sleep, and be alone, hating who you are, non-stop crying, and that your life and world are dark.
Know that you are not alone and there are people who can help. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to once again have hope for their lives.
Burnout occurs after a prolonged period of emotional, mental, and physical stress. If you are experiencing burnout, you may also feel overwhelmed and unable to meet the demands of your job or daily life.
Some signs and symptoms of burnout include feeling tired and drained most of the time, getting sick more frequently; feeling like a failure, loss of motivation, cynicism, decreased satisfaction with your job, detachment, isolation, using drugs or alcohol to cope, and withdrawing from responsibilities.
Most people will experience trauma in their lifetime whether it’s a car accident, abuse or neglect, the sudden death of a loved one, a violent criminal act, exposure to the violence of war, or a natural disaster.
While many people can recover from trauma over time with the love and support of family and friends and bounce back with resiliency, others may discover effects of lasting trauma, which can cause a person to live with deep emotional pain, fear, confusion, or posttraumatic stress far after the event has passed.
Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy is designed for people who suffer repeated bouts of depression or chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.
Somatic Experiencing (SE™) aims to resolve symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that accumulate in our bodies. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, SE helps us release, recover, and become more resilient. It is a body-oriented therapeutic model applied in multiple settings for healing trauma and other stress disorders.
No judgements. No biases. Just a strong support system with open ears. Stigma, in any form, is an impediment to the well-being of those who experience it. Given the stressors that LGBT groups must confront, such as homophobia, prejudice, coming out, and discrimination, finding a therapist who is openly LGBT-friendly or who specializes in LGBT issues is crucial to your personal growth.
Our therapists are committed to helping clients of all genders, sexual identities and expressions feel not only safe, but truly respected.
You can reach out initially by phone or email according to your preferences. You will then receive a phone call from your therapist to discuss any questions, concerns, and details about your initial appointment. During this time, feel free to ask any questions you have in regards to therapy style, location details, or payment.
During your initial appointment, you can expect to meet with the therapist to get comfortable in the space, understand the structure of the therapy, and your client rights. This initial appointment is a great time to explore long term goals and to determine if the therapeutic relationship is a good fit for you. In addition, the therapist will give you feedback on the ways in which she may be able to help support you in reaching your long term goals. This is a collaborative process between you and the therapist.
At the end of your initial appointment, a consistent therapy schedule will be recommended and your future appointments set up. This can include individual therapy, family therapy, parenting support, mindfulness group, therapeutic yoga, or a combination of these will be appropriate for you.
Self-pay rates different based on the therapist and type of session. Sessions will cost between $90 and $150.
Most of our providers are in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans including Blue Value, United Healthcare/Optum, Aetna, and we are a certified provider to Tricare/Humana Military.
